How to Read Air Purifier Reviews

Trying to sit down and write a air purifier review can be pretty tricky as each user has their own needs and requirements. Whilst a unit might work perfectly for an allergy suffer it might be no good at helping someone who suffers from asthma.

The job of an air purifier is to clean the air of any pollutants that irritate or cause an allergic reaction. Someone who suffers from hay fever will need an air purifier to remove all pollen from the air so they don’t have a reaction. The same is true for someone who has a dust mite allergy but this time the machine will need to remove all dust mite pollutants. As you can imagine some air purifiers are good at picking up certain chemicals more than others.

Based on peoples different needs I will always review specific purifier models based on a multitude of task and provide separate marks for each.

Access to a laboratory will be required if you want to compare the efficacy of units at removing different pollutants from the air.

There is now a vast array of technology that purifiers utilise such as HEPA filers, UV and Ionizers. If you don’t understand how these types of technologies work then it can be hard to decide which is best for your problem.

In the Navy, HEPA was first created so that air could be purified on board submarines. The way that a HEPA purifier works is by using a polymer or paper filter that has so small holes that pollutants are stopped and blocked. At cleaning air, HEPA has good efficiency but the problem is that filters will need to be replaced. The cost of filters can be very high and in some cases can cost more than the price of an air purifier! If you are reading a review for a particular HEPA model then make sure you find out how much the filters cost and when they will need to be replaced.

After all the tests, we found that the Oreck range was the most efficient air purifier on the market. If you want to read more Air Purifiers then feel free to visit our website.
